Respecting Sacred Spaces while Capturing Memories

With Ayodhya’s stunning new Nagara architecture, stepped ghats, and vibrant evening aartis, travelers and content creators are naturally eager to document their journeys. However, strict security cordons and religious traditions govern where photography is welcomed and where cameras are strictly forbidden.

Where Cameras and Mobile Phones are Strictly Banned

  • Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Inner Complex: Absolutely no cameras, DSLRs, smartphones, or recording devices of any kind are permitted past the Pilgrim Facilitation Centre scanners.
  • Hanuman Garhi Inner Sanctum: Photography inside the main garbhagriha is strictly prohibited out of reverence for the deity.
  • Security Checkpoints & Rapid Action Force Outposts: Photographing armed personnel, security barriers, or surveillance towers is strictly illegal.

Drone Flying Guidelines (No-Fly Zone)

Central Ayodhya is classified as a high-security Red Zone under Ministry of Civil Aviation regulations. Flying commercial or recreational camera drones is strictly prohibited without prior written clearance from the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police.

Stunning Permitted Photography Spots

Visitors can freely capture breathtaking photos and videos at: Ram Ki Paidi promenade, Naya Ghat during evening aarti, Guptar Ghat gardens, Surya Kund amphitheater, and the grand stone gates along Ram Path.
